Is emotional fitness the key to business success?

Since I have been working in MLM and more so Doterra essential oils I have been reflecting on my reason why and what is my motivation towards success?

Emotional fitness

I am guess everyone is saying that the reason is easy, it all about the money and of course we are all motivated by money, but money is just one part of the story. Money in itself will not give us what we really want, so to find our motivation without money we really need to understand what we have been searching for all our lives. 

When I have started to consider what my motivation was in regards to why, it made it easier to focus on, where I was heading. However, more importantly, I found myself searching for that feeling of success that will feel when we have achieve a seemingly impossible goal and that excitement we feel as we move closer our dreams.

However, the closer we move towards the target, the more we start to question ourselves by asking “Is that all there is?” In my case, is moving to Spain really all I want from life? And my answer was no! Yes, having a concrete dream to motivate me was and still is a good starting point but it need more than that to sustain anyone through that long journey ahead.

So, what is the solution to long term and sustained motivation towards success?

Motivation towards successI feel that we need to fuel or energies ourselves by creating our personal belief system that works for us as individuals regardless if it is religious or personal faith. These will help us through the good and the bad times ahead, because we live in a world of uncertainties which will force us off the path toward success. However, never underestimate the importance of the ups and downs in life to excite and disappoint, but fortunately our belief system will be there helping us to weather the storm.

Below I have made a list that will help you to construct your belief system as you move towards greater personal and business success now and in the future: 

  • Certainties: Things in life that we feel will happen, we need to believe that we will be successful overtime
  • Uncertainties: Problems that will accrue when we think that everything is moving forward nicely, we need to have the strength to start again if needed
  • The feeling of importance: We all love to feel that without us, everything will just full apart and that our downline need us, but also with the ability to allow our prodigies to fly away. However that feeling that we have become important in influencing someone else life is a motivation in itself.
  • Connect with people: The belief that we are loved, liked, and respected is vital for many of us in life and business as well as the ability to connect on a deeper level in respect to trust and even emotional love. This can be helped by finding common beliefs, goals, hobbies and ideologies that people can relate to.               
  • Contribute beyond yourself: Giving apart of yourself, such as time, knowledge, experience, support or just by being there and available when needed.
  • Emotions: In my opinion, this is the most important element, because when we truly emotionally connect with people, family and friends we really start to live. When we are emotionally unavailable we are not a part of the human condition hither to unable to connect with other in a meaningful way. There is nothing worse than achieving success and finding that you have left your soul behind, so consider that life and business is really about emotional relationships and in the case of Doterra developing relationships that will sustain and maintain a good quality of life for everyone in your team now and in the future.

Should I be searching for fulfillment as a Doterra Consultant?

Typically most of us understand that our past influences our future and even though this can be a positive thing, if we are not fulfilled in life, we may not attain enough motivation towards success in life or business. So, we will need to change our lives dominate ideology that has built up around us over the many years. These could be anything from divorce at the negative end to a very happy and safe childhood at the positive end.

Both of these life situations may have an adverse effect on your ability to be successful in the future, though it could be added that our emotional fitness and the ability to understand what past events will help us in the future is a key resource on the road to success.   

So, why do we fail in life and business?

Motivation without moneyIt’s a difficult question, but I believe the key to success is be in the right emotional state. Human emotions are the key to success, if we are passion about what we do, others see and feel this passion and relate. If we are existed about what we are doing others become existed and want to become existed with us. So, in the end it’s about having emotional fitness and the ability to use your positive emotions in a positive and productive way.

Consider these questions in regards to emotional fitness:

  • What did you do today and why did you do it?
  • Did it help you achieve your goal or did it hinder you?

The fact is we can make anything happen when we take action, but we don’t, most of us enjoy the comfort of our routine and anything out of the box or slightly awkward that is causing or feeling uneasy embarrassment or inconvenience stops many of us from achieving success. Action is just the emotional state we need to be in to move from inaction to action.

The question should be to motivate us towards success:

  • What can I do today to make the quality of life better?
  • What emotional state do I need to be in to take action?

Putting ones emotional mindset into forward gear allows us all to make anything happen, so give yourself sometime and ask yourself: 

  • Where do you see yourself today?
  • Where do you see yourself in the future?
  • What action are you going to take today to achieve that future state?

  1. Doterra team buildingCreate the opportunity for trust: Trust comes from results. Results come from a combination of opportunities and actions. That climate can be established at every level. The quicker leader establish trust from the results the faster your team will have confidence and a belief in the system. If a Doterra leader suggests a action and that action has a positive result, the belief and trust in the said action is likely to be duplicated. Duplication will empower your team.
  2. Provide recognition to individuals in your Doterra team: This is different than recognizing contribution, but just as valuable. When a goal is met by someone in your team, empower them to go out and do more by recognizing the goal accomplishment. Doterra recognition is achievements such as achieving new rankings levels, sponsoring new consultants and arranging new events such as classes and parties. A Doterra recognition can be used to empower wellness advocates at every level.
  3. Create meaningful  and achievable goals: Goal setting can get messy, so much easier to just write down. This will empower team members, and provides them with a focus point and concrete knowledge of achievement.
  4. Ask individuals in your team what they think: And then listen to their responses. The most feared words in business is; “What do you think?” , but, the fact is you are given the new wellness advocate the opportunity to lead. The truth is those words empower them to lead and in turn they empower their team. For a Doterra consultant to become successful they need to have the willingness and ability to take action and move toward success! Often our fear of success is so overwhelming that it stops us from taking action and striving towards our goals. So logically the only direction we can take to be successful is in conflicted with the things we fear.

There are 5 common obstacles you may encounter when starting your Doterra business. These are a result of your fears that are preventing you from taking those action steps to achieve goals and objectives needed for your success.

Taking Action

Taking the first step in a new business can be the most difficult part of any journey since it means you are expected to venture out of your comfort zone. Your fear or reluctance is generally due to change which represents something different or unknown. We tend to associate our reluctance with thinking the challenge will be too difficult however in reality it is just change!

Being accountable for your own actions

Becoming successful in your Doterra business you should accept being accountable for your own actions no matter the results! Your personal success is yours only, therefore you can take the credit, but also you can take the blame no matter what happens, it is all down to you! Some of us are uncomfortable with this idea because we tend to want to blame others when things go badly wrong but understand one important thing, no guts no glory!

This process must continue and evolve as technology changes, new skills are needed or developed, abilities are enhanced and the success of your Doterra consultant has increased.

I have put a list of Doterra tips that will help the motivated Doterra consultant to achieve success. These 11 keys have helped me with my business, my team and allowed me to walk into the future with pride. But, mostly helped me learn to become a leader, which I am hoping will teach you.

There are numerous avenues to success with my Doterra tools

At times, success is simply, once you have the right Doterra tools and keys, success will fall into your hands. Anyhow, success is not picked up through fortunes alone. It won’t come to you unless you do something to accomplish it.

Doterra toolsSuccess is the objective of all business people. Furthermore in view of this, it generally turns into the top necessity. Be that as it may success is immaterial, and that it makes it so hard to attain. So how are we able to become effective in our business?

The response is to arrange and sort out the things inside your organization. Your route to success is picking the right keys and the leaderships skill and knowledge to achieve them.

My personal business goals are quite simple, recruit personally 5 people a month, the rest will do itself. However, please don’t feel that you have to copy my goals, try and find your own goals that suit you.

Key #3: Aim high!

It is not bad if you aim for higher goals as long as it is achievable on time. Aiming for higher goals will not result in any resentment in the near future. It is better if you set higher goals and trim them down later on, than make a number of smaller goals that don’t lead to your primary goal.

Key #4: List all the possible changes you will have to make.

Think about the specific steps you have to undertake to change things around in your business. It is good to have a list of detailed steps, with deadlines for achieving them. This key is something that needs to be rewritten about every month, because life is always in flux and so will be your business. One day you will be struggling to find people to join your business or buy your products and the next second you business is running away with you. So think ahead of the game.

Key #5: Clarify all skills needed to achieve your set of goals.

You should also be able to think of the proper skills you could use in achieving your goals. You may cut your budget by maximizing the potential skills you could very well do on your own. To do this, here are some suggestions:

  • Clearly define a brand for building your Doterra business, which you could use as a basis for all your moves.
  • Learn to master the art of writing to save money on all your promotions.
  • Spend some time learning how to directly market your business in order to reach a wider audience and achieve higher sales.
  • Learn to manage your business through your own capabilities in order to know fully the ins and outs of your business
  • For some of you this may be just considering some Doterra Party Ideas for others it could learning more about internet marketing

Key #6: Make your goals achievable.

Be realistic in setting up your goals for your Doterra business success. Consider some things first before you dive into the things you plan to achieve. Consider the time, money, and capabilities of your business before anything else.

After all things have been settled, you are now ready to plan your success. It is advisable to make long-term plans because this will enable you to see clearly the things you have achieved.

Key #8: Specify the moves you make to achieve your goals.

Specifying things will help you see more of what you plan to do. You have to make an outline of your goals, with the specific steps you plan to undertake. All of these should be included in your 1-year plan.

Key #9: Mark all the things you will do within a year on your calendar.

Speaking of an organized plan, you should be able to record all the things you plan to do on your calendar. This will highlight the things you already have achieved and the things you still have to do. It is very important to keep track of your plans.

Key #10: Always make assessments on your Business Plan.

You should be able to follow-up on your own plans. Changes are inevitable so do not be frustrated if you have to make some changes. What is important is that you are able to cope with the changes and can proceed to achieving your goals.

Key #11: Become a Leader

This is your main goal. Become a leader and lead your team by example. Motivate and encourage your team members to be more than they are and achieve more than they believe they can. And then finally let them fly and become leaders themselve, because your job is done.

An effective leader can provide the vision and motivation to his or her team so they work together toward the same goal, and then understanding the talents and temperaments of each individual and effectively motivating each person to contribute individually their best toward achieving the group goal.

The day you become a Doterra consultant you have made a decision to change an aspect of your life, because you feel that the direction you were travelling was not fulfilling a need in your life. However, a successfully transition from one reality to the next needs a plan regardless if it is with Doterra or any life changing decision.

My personal Doterra success planner

Doterra success plannerI’m not a great person to talk about making plans, but I have found that a daily list of things to do does help me achieve something in the day and also allows me to know when I have finished. This allows me to have some free time to enjoy life rather than let it pass me by.

Nevertheless, large home based business projects like Doterra sometime can be overwhelming for someone new to the industry, so I take a quote from a very good friend of mine regarding running a MLM business and how overwhelming it can be:

How to you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!

And this is the kind of philosophy I have, I chip away at my business with the belief, knowledge and understanding that like any business, overtime I will achieve success.

My Doterra planner has three basic rules

  • Get my next consultant
  • Support my new consultant
  • Get to the next level

Of course, we can be more pacific than that, but keeping it simple is clearer and more understandable for the new consultant. For me keeping to these rules is a leveler, that we all need to do on a daily bases.I like to keep in mind that this is a Doterra success planner to take my business and life to the next level.
